Today was the first day back on the tradeshow floor at Pack Expo Las Vegas and it was great to see attendees and exhibitors in person. The ProMach Metroplex was busy with attendees discovering ProMach’s broad range of solutions that meet nearly any production line challenges. Just on day 1, we saw new machines with live demonstrations and new and improved innovations across the packaging spectrum.
Our focus today was on Bottling and Capping, Flexibles and Trays, Decorative Labeling, and as many End of Line product brands that we could fit into the day. At the entrance to the Metroplex at ProMach Blvd, we stood in awe at the magnitude of the 39,000 sq ft booth space. With street signs and lighted signage, it was quite an impressive sight to take in!
We began on ProMach Blvd and made a left on 1st Street to meet with folks from Axon. We saw a live demonstration of Axon’s new HydroTech TB Washdown Tamper Band Applicator, designed specifically for production environments such as dairy and ice cream where washdowns are necessary. This machine is capable of applying tamper bands to round, and non-round containers up to 7.4″ in diameter. We’ll have a video of this machine in action posted on the blog in the upcoming days!
Further down 1st street we met with Bottling and Capping experts at Zalkin, Roberts PolyPro, and Pace. Zalkin had a live demonstration of their 8 Head Rotary Capper, which features a pick and place capper and lubrication-free headslide bushings, eliminating the need for grease thus providing a much cleaner process. Turning to focus to Flexibles and Trays, we met with the sales team from Ossid. They showcased their new product offering of the ReeFlow 50 rotary motion flow wrapper, an entry-level machine that boasts 100% stainless steel construction, and a motorized film unwind that meters film, eliminating snapping of eco-sustainable fully recyclable mono-materials, compostable and biodegradable materials. This is a great feature for those looking to package with these sustainable materials that can often be difficult to handle. More on Flexibles and Trays tomorrow!
We concluded our first day with End of Line ProMach product brand Wexxar Bel. The ProMach End of Line business line is so robust, we couldn’t fit it all in one day! We stopped by Wexxar Bel, an impressive booth space with machines like the Bel 5150E, an e-commerce solution for semi-automatic form, pack, and sealing. This is the first-ever all-in-one for a pack and seal system with auto-adjust.
Before we knew it the show was closing, and it was time to head out for the day. With so many new machines on the show floor, we can’t write about them all in one post. In the coming days and weeks after the show, we’ll be posting about the new equipment with videos and highlights from the engineers themselves.
